Short Writing Assignment #3

            In the article “Responding-Really Responding-to Other Students’ Writing” by Richard Straub, Straub makes valid and helpful tips one can use while peer editing one of your classmate’s essays. Whenever I had to peer edit one of my classmates papers I always felt the need to be so nice to them because I just thought to myself maybe the next person who reads this can be more harsh and say what I could not bare to tell them. Straub focuses not only on how to properly correct an essay but he also points out how to make helpful suggestions praising them telling them what you like but also pointing out some areas where they lack and could use some improvement. Throughout the article Straub breaks it down in different sections making it an easy read, Straub makes one look beyond just the text laid out in front of them, he makes them look deep into someone’s work and how one could better themselves in becoming peer editors.
